In kindergarten, I was fascinated by "Was ist was"-Book about volcanoes and geysers and planted in me the desire to see Iceland one day. This wish guided us through Denmark, the Faroe Islands and indeed Iceland during our honeymoon. The biggest surprise was the record summer: while the rest of Europe suffered from scorching sun and lack of water, Icelanders experienced the rainiest summer in over 100 years. And we were there!
